A variety of well known and up and coming comedians perform frankly bizarre reconstructions of their own material. After telling their story on stage in front of a live audience, the story is then recreated. It really does bring the comedy to life!
This biographical film is based on the life of children’s writer Enid Blyton and stars Helena Bonham Carter. Enid begins by telling stories to her brothers as a distraction from their parent’s rows. Later whilst training as a teacher, she sends her stories to publishers. The story charts her marriage and subsequent divorce to one of the publishers Hugo Pollock. Enid is a terrible mother, totally self-absorbed, she ignores her own children in favour of her fans. A real insight into the private life of this complex woman and a definite recommendation of what to watch on Britbox right now!
