Hotly anticipated, Disney + is now available in the UK. It’s now the home of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, so not just for the kids. Let’s have a look at what we would recommend for this month.
The Mandalorian is a American Space Western following a lone bounty hunter across the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. It has all the markings of the best in Star Wars with strange creatures, epic space vehicles, fast-paced battles and diverse people but it also has an adorable baby Yoda. Just watch the trailer above and I’m sure you will agree it’s worth giving this a go.
If you have teenagers you may remember High School Musical films the first time around with Zac Efron shot at the “real-life” East High. This Mockumentary follows a teacher’s efforts to put on “High School Musical – The Musical” at East High. This hilarious 10 part series charts the countdown to opening night including the auditions, the burgeoning romances and friendship fall outs.
I have to admit some bias here as my family are huge Marvel fans. Even if you haven’t watched all of the Marvel films in strict sequence several times, this movie stands up on its own as a feast for the eyes. Its packed from beginning to end with action, with the usual Marvel funny moments and balanced with some heart wrenching stuff too. It picks up from the end of Avengers: Infinity War where the universe is in ruins following Thanos’ actions which saw half of the universes population obliterated. The remaining Avengers have to discover a way to reverse his actions against all the odds.
One of several “Live Action” movies where the lines between animation and real life are not as distinguishable anymore. Its beautifully done and true to the original animation with impressive voice performances throughout. James Earl Jones oozes wisdom and gravitas as Mustafa whilst British Shakesperian actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is suitably sinister as Scar.
That’s all for now folks. Let us know what you are enjoying on Disney+ and we may feature your review.
